Centralia Boys Golf Wins 1A Regional Tourney; Frankfort's Hardwick Crowned Individual Champ

It was the Centralia Boys Golf Team that won the 1A Regional Title at Washington on Monday afternoon at Cedar Hills Golf Course while Frankfort's Joey Hardwick won the individual title. 

The Panthers placed five in the top 20 including two in the top 11 as the Panthers tallied a team score of 361 which was seven strokes better than Washington County who finished in second place with a score of 368. 

Frankfort's Joey Hardwick continued his strong season as he added another win as his round of 80 on Monday won him the individual title. His teammate Grady Fox will also be heading to state as he finished in ninth place with a 90. 

Centralia's top performer was Drew Gibbs who shot an 82 which was good for a tie for third place while Paxton Bowers finished 11th with a score of 91. 

Washington County placed two in the top 10 as Konner Gepner and Carson Kearn each fired an 87 which was good for a tie in sixth place. 

Frankfort finished in sixth with a score of 411 while Onaga finished in seventh with a score of 440. 

Onaga's top player was Konnor Nider as he finished eighth place with an 89. 

The 1A State Golf Tournament will take place Monday and Tuesday (May 23 & 24) at Hesston Golf Course.
