The #2 seed Lady Trojans pitched a shutout in the first quarter and scored the first 19 points of the game while Hiawatha buried themselves with 14 early turnovers.  After that stretch, the game was played pretty evenly the rest of the way.  Tanner Weishaar of Troy scored 8 of her 11 in the first quarter while Claire Turpin added 11 and Troy (now 7-3) made 15 of 21 free throws while never giving up a double-digit lead.  Hiawatha, who was playing without leading scorer and rebounder, Emily Gartner, had 26 turnovers but did get 14 points from Sophia Fortmeyer and 13 from Miracle Clark before falling to 0-11 on the season.

Rock Creek 38, Horton 22
The Chargers led 12-10 after one quarter but Sarah Coversup picked up her third foul and Rock Creek (now 5-6) went on a 21-5 run over the next two quarters to take control of the game.  Loagan Rodvelt led the Chargers with 9 points, while Blair Campbell had 11 and Megan Srna 8 for the #6 seeded Mustangs.  Rock Creek has won the Hiawatha Girls Tourney the past five years and six of the previous seven times.

Marysville 61, Jackson Heights 21
The #1 seed Marysville had no problems moving into the winners bracket and took a 38-10 halftime lead and a 15-0 second quarter.  Tristin Wicks posted 23 points for the (8-3) Lady Bulldogs while Abi Degenhardt added 12.  The Lady Cobras (0-12) got 5 points from Jessica Keehn in the loss and four other players scored four points each.

Nemaha Valley 55, Falls City 44
Falls City made things interesting by winning the fourth quarter 23-9, but Nemaha Valley dominated the first three frames leading 18-7 after a quarter and 32-11 at the break.  The Lady Raiders took a 25 point margin into the final quarter and had 10 players score.  Jill Swart and Kaylee Bontrager each led the Raiders with 10 points while Ashley Rottinghaus added 9.  Nemaha Valley is 7-4 overall but has won 5 in a row in 2013.  Falls City (8-9) had 8 players score in defeat led by sophomore, Sydney Armbruster with 9 and Brooke Scheitel with 8.
