K-Preps Rankings Ahead of Sectional Round Playoff Games

We're down to the Sectional (Quarterfinals) round of the high school football playoffs and K-Preps have updated their rankings ahead of this week's action. 

Hanover remains the #1 ranked team in 8M-II as they got past Burlingame last week 64-8 to improve to 10-0 on the season. Hanover hosts Linn in the Sectional round this week. 

Axtell holds down their spot at #2 in 8M-II and have been on a tear since their lone loss against Hanover a few weeks ago. The Eagles beat down Rural Vista in quick fashion last week 46-0. Axtell hosts Frankfort in the Sectional round this week. 

Remaining top five in 8M-II: Victoria #3, Hutch Central Christian #4, Hodgeman County #5. 

Jackson Heights is continues to be the #1 ranked team in Class 1A, but the Cobras survived an overtime thriller last week against Olpe 21-20. The Cobras are 10-0 and get a rematch with Riverside in Sectional's this week as they defeated the Cyclones 21-0 back in week one. 

Rossville enters the Sectional round week ranked #3 in Class 1A after they beat down Jefferson County North last week 53-18 to improve to 9-1. The Dawgs travel to undefeated St. Marys-Colgan this week in the Sectional round. 

Remaining top five in 1A: Sterling #2, St. Marys-Colgan #4, Smith Center #5. 

The top five in 2A remain the same as Nemaha Central is ranked #2 behind only defending champs Southeast of Saline. NC took care of Council Grove last week 34-12 to improve to 10-0 as Carter Hajek surpassed 7,000 career rushing yards in the win against the Braves. The Thunder hosts Nemaha County rival Sabetha in the Sectional round this week. 

Remaining top five in 2A: Southeast of Saline #1, Hoisington #3, Osage City #4, Garden Plain #5.
