The Troy boys basketball team snapped a brief two-game skid on Friday night holding off Doniphan West in the final game before the break 51-45.

The Trojans (3-3) led 11-8 at the end of the first quarter and 21-18 at halftime.

Troy would build a nine point lead late in the third quarter, but the Mustangs (4-3) would score five straight to make the score 34-30 going into the fourth quarter.

D-West would get within one point early in the fourth quarter but wouldn’t lead at any point the rest of the way as the Trojans would be able to hold on for the win.

Kaston Jasper led Troy with 17 points and 11 rebounds while Henry Geiger added 11 points and seven rebounds. Hunter Engemann finished with nine points and Colt Jensen added six points for the Trojans.

Doniphan West was looking for their fourth straight win before the break and were led by Kolter Peterson with 14 points while they also got 10 points from Braylon Shelton and nine points from Dustin Veach.
