The Kansas Basketball Coaches Association (KBCA) released its updated rankings this week, with several area teams making notable moves up the charts.
In Class 3A, Silver Lake continued to hold down the top spot in the rankings. Hiawatha made a significant jump, climbing four positions from #9 to #5, while Riley County remained ranked at #10.
The Twin Valley League was once again well represented in Class 2A, with Valley Heights and Doniphan West checking in at #7 and #9, respectively.
In Class 1A-I, Centralia stayed at #3, trailing only Little River and Wabaunsee, while Clifton-Clyde appeared in the rankings at #9. Class 1A-II saw Hanover continue its reign as the top-ranked team, with Linn ranked #5 and Axtell #9.
In Class 4A, Atchison remained at #2, sitting behind only Rock Creek. The two programs are the only unbeaten teams remaining in the classification.
Hiawatha moved up two spots from #8 to #6 in Class 3A, while Silver Lake represented the Big East League at #8.
St. Marys was the only other Big East team to crack the rankings this week, as the Bears checked in at #9 in Class 2A.
The Twin Valley League placed three teams in the Class 1A-II rankings, led by Hanover and Axtell at #1 and #2, respectively. Linn rounded out the list at #10.
