The Royal Valley girls basketball team went on the road Tuesday night and defeated St. Marys in Big East League play 52-34.

The Panthers (7-7, 3-2) opened the game with a 19-6 advantage in the first quarter, but struggled in the second quarter leading the game 24-14 at halftime.

The Bears (1-13, 0-6) kept things close in the third quarter as the Panthers would lead the game 34-24 going into the fourth quarter.

Much like the first quarter, Royal Valley was solid in the final eight minutes outscoring St. Marys 20-8 to pull away for the win.

Royal was led by KiWe Miller with 22 points while Panno Wahwassuck finished with 17 points. The Panthers collected a total of 52 rebounds in the game and only turned the ball over 12 times.

St. Marys got 10 points and six rebounds from Jadelynn Brees and six points each from Karsyn Pauli and Brianna Figge. The Bears turned the ball over 18 times and made just 4-of-12 from the free throw line.
