The Sabetha baseball team captured the 2026 Big East League Title on Thursday night after sweeping Silver Lake in two great games. 

The Bluejays rallied in both games with two runs in the last inning defeating the Eagles 6-5 and 10-9 (11). 

Jefferson West won the title last season and the Bluejays secured the title this season going 18-2 in league play with their lone losses against Nemaha Central and Rossville. 

Jefferson West also went 18-2 in league play this season, but the Bluejays swept Jefferson West on April 27 by final scores of 8-6 and 9-7. 

The Bluejays closed the regular season with 10 straight wins and are 21-4 overall going into the first round of Regional's next week as they will host on Wednesday. 

Sabetha is the number two ranked team in Class 3A according to the Kansas Baseball Coaches Association.
