The Kansas Association of Baseball Coaches has released its latest rankings as regional tournament action gets underway across the state this week.

In Class 3A, Jefferson West and Sabetha are ranked No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. Both teams advanced through the opening round of regional play on Wednesday. Jefferson West cruised past Riley County, 16-1, while Sabetha edged Royal Valley, 7-6.

Both schools will host semifinal and championship games on Tuesday. Jefferson West will face Hiawatha in one semifinal, while Nemaha Central takes on Maur Hill-Mount Academy in the other matchup. At Sabetha, the Bluejays will meet Silver Lake, while Maranatha and Riverside square off in the other semifinal.

Rossville also represents the Big East in the latest rankings, checking in at No. 4 in Class 2-1A. Rossville hosts St. Marys in its opening-round regional matchup Thursday.

Also in Class 2-1A, Frankfort ranked No. 6, with Mission Valley sitting between Frankfort and Rossville in the standings.

The Wildcats posted a 20-win regular season and earned the No. 1 seed in their regional bracket. Frankfort will host Atchison County in first-round action Thursday.
