Down 7-0 early the Nemaha Central defense forced a Silver Lake punt early in the second quarter and David Delaney blocked the punt and recovered it in the endzone for a Thunder TD and with the two-point conversion took an 8-7 lead. The Thunder scored another TD before halftime and Mitchell Henry stopped a potential Silver Lake scoring drive right before halftime with an INT to go to intermission with the Thunder leading 15-7.
Nemaha Central forced two more turnovers in the second half of Silver Lake and stopped them in the final minute of the game on a 4th & 1 play from the 16-yard line of Nemaha securing the win. Silver Lake outgained Nemaha Central in the game but could not overcome their three turnovers.
Ryan Hasenkamp was 5-10 for 65 yards with 43 yards on 20 carries and TD, while Mitchell Henry had 24 yards on 9 carries with a TD and 2 INTs on defense. Jacob Schmitz added a 3 catch game for 97 yards.
