Football - Nemaha Central vs Wellsville 11/11/2016 7:00 PM

For the first time since 1997 Nemaha was in the Sectional round of the playoffs and they earned a spot in the Sub-State game with the win over Wellsville, avenging a 1985 loss to Wellsville in the Sectional round of the playoffs (7-6). 

The Thunder scored on their first offense drive of the game and on their second drive after forcing a INT to get a short field. Nemaha Central perserved a 22-6 led going into halftime with a fourth down stop in the redzone on a Mitchell Heiman INT. Thunder posted a 20-8 second half and earned the win. Ryan Hasenkamp threw for 250 yards with 4 TDs and ran for 71 yards and TD, while Mitchell Henry ran for 101 yards on 25 carries with a TD and INT on defense. Luke Haverkamp caught 4 passes for 114 yards with 2 TDs, while Dylan Enneking caught a 33-yard TD pass and got an INT on defense. Trenton Henry hauled in a 7-yard touchdown pass also for Nemaha Central. 

Thunder defense held an opponent to 14 points or less for the ninth time of 11 games this season forcing three turnovers (3 INTs) and Nemaha Central also blocked a punt in the contest.
