Both teams were off to hot starts on the season and it was a chance to test themselves with other team starting the year off with a fast start. The Dragons of Valley Falls handed the Buffaloes of Onaga their first loss of the season in a tight ball game.
Onaga led at the half 22-19 but after a 12-5 3rd quarter Valley Falls captured the lead. Junior, Max Badgett lead the way for Valley Falls with 13 points, while Ben Gantz added 10 points and Gates Glassel posted 8 points. For Onaga, sophomore Wyatt Cordell lead the way with 15 points, while Mitchell Kufahl chipped in 8 points and Buffalo big men, Jerod Gronewoller and Thomas Eisenbarth both tallied 7 points.
