TVL Tournament (at Onaga) - 5th place game
The Axtell Eagles finished the TVL tournament strong and have won five of last six and took fifth place with a 49-36 win over Blue Valley. Axtell took the initial lead and Blue Valley snagged a 10-9 lead in the final minute of the quarter only to have Axtell up 12-10 after the first quarter. The lead grew for the Eagles as they outscored the Rams with a 17-7 second quarter to lead 27-17 at the half. A 12-5 third quarter pushed the lead out further for Axtell ultimately guiding them to the win.
Axtell with the win moved to 6-6 on the season and was led by Trisha Mathewson who scored 17 points earning her Community National Bank "Player to Bank On" honors on 92.1 KMZA, while Hanna Schmitz scored nine points. Blue Valley fell to 5-7 on the season and was led by Brooklyn Zoeller who posted 16 points and Allie Cassel finished with 10 points.
