Axtell after a couple straight tough losses, scored plenty of points on homecoming and cruised to a victory moving to .500. The Eagles scored 32 points in the first quarter and 20 in the second quarter for all 52 of their points.
Senior, Aaron Schmelzle switched back to quarterback after the injury to Taylor Platt and Schmelzle performed well. Schmelzle was 6-11 for 52 yards and a TD, ran for 85 yards on seven carries with 4 rushing TD's. Dylan Heiman caught the Schmelzle TD pass for 15 yards. Axtell also scored a touchdown on defense and special teams with a 26 yard INT return by Zach Heinen and a blocked punt by Schmelzle, picked up by Heiman and ran 27 yards for a TD.
