It was a heart breaking loss for the Raiders to start 3A District play as NV had won five in a row and finished a perfect Big 7 run before stumbling to the visiting Falcons. Riley County led 14-6 at halftime and got a huge game from their quarterback as Bryce Chavis accounted for all four Falcons scores. He ran in three touchdowns and threw for the other as Riley improved to 3-4 and dropped NV to 5-2. Chavis had 33 carries for 203 yards. Tanner Ranieri had a one yard score for the Raiders and Caleb Meyer tossed a 10 yard TD to Michael Rottinghaus in the loss. Nemaha Valley now needs a win against Rock Creek in week eight to keep post-season hopes alive.
