Holton started 4A District play with an impressive road win over a Wamego team (5-2) that hadn't lost since a one-point setback in week one to Rock Creek. Drake Ewing led the Wildcat ground attack with 178 yards on 18 totes and scored 3 touchdowns but Holton ran for 530 total yards. They did allow some yardage while jumping to a 40-0 lead, but the Wildcat defense had 6 takeaways to keep Wamego off the board. Marshall Wethington, one of the state's top passers was 17 of 32 for 242 yards but had 3 costly interceptions, the last of which was returned 25 yards by Andrew Rieschick for a score.
Holton remains perfect at 8-0 entering their home game against arch-rival Hayden (3-4) next Friday with a live broadcast on 103.9 FM and www.mscsports.net
