This huge Atchison County rivaly had a lot on the line, including a possible playoff spot as well as second place in the DVL North Division, plus bragging rights. Yet, as they have every year since 2005, the Tigers won the game between 4-2 teams in Effingham. The Ravens had a couple turnovers in the first half which ACCHS took advantage of and pulled away from an early 7-7 to take a commanding 19-7 halftime lead. Quarterback Kyle Chew ran for more than 150 yards and Ramsey Hundley scored a pair of rushing touchdowns as Atchison County snapped a two-game losing streak and started the 3A District campaign with a big win.
