In a crucial District contest the Axtell Eagles used a late one-yard TD run by Kaleb Buessing with 8.1 seconds left in the contest to give them the win. The Eagles led 16-8 at halftime after a defensive score, but the game was tied at 24-24 with 1:19 left.
Buessing stepped in at quarterback for the injured Colton Buessing for Axtell, posting 203 yards on 17-22 passing with a TD and two TD runs. Brice Koch caught 8 passes for 104 yards with a TD and had a fumble recovery TD on a 60-yard INT return by Adam Kuckelman, who returned it to goal line and fumble it.
Frankfort in the loss had Jase Suther ran for 123 yards on 28 carries, while Adam Kenworthy had 38 yards on 19 carries with 3 TDs and was 6-16 for 95 yards.
