It was battle that need extra play in two overtimes to decide the winner between two of the top 8-Man Division II teams in the B&B Falcons and Hanover Wildcats.
B&B took the early lead in the game, but Hanover would take the lead in the second half and lead the ball game at the half.
Hanover started with the ball in the second half and Hanover stretched their lead out to a two possession game 38-22. B&B needing a score went 65 yards on all running plays for a score and continued to fight back in the game tying the game twice in the second half, ultimately forcing overtime.
In OT B&B scored from six yards out on a 4th down, then Hanover scored on a 4th down too from 11 yards out...to the second OT we went. B&B stopped Hanover with a fourth down sack by Cameron Haug and then on the first offensive play Dustin Rottinghaus went in from 10 yards out for the game winning score.
Rottinghaus for the Falcons lead the way with 151 yards rushing and 6 TD's, while also throwing for 143 yards. Dustin Deters added 150 yards on the ground and a TD.
For Hanover, their quarterback, Cody Neiman 10-15 152 yards 2 TD's and a 1 yard TD run. Wade Steinfort and Kent Bruna caught the TD passes for 54 and 20 yards. Mark Zarybnicky tallied 98 yards rushing and TD (53 yards) and a 43 yard punt return.
Both teams had 2 turnovers in the game but B&B's defense tallied 3 sacks.
B&B has won the last 6 in the series and are 57-2 in the last 5 seasons (includes this year). With the win the Falcons won the district title. Hanover even with the loss locked up a playoff spot, also with the other outcomes in the district.
