Axtell led 17-10 after the first quarter but Troy closed that lead to just 24-22 by halftime only to see Axtell outscore them 26-11 in the second half for the Eagles to earn the win. Courtney Heinen scored 23 points to lead Axtell, while Kiersten Talbot posted 12 points. Blair Weishaar led Troy with 18 points.
