Holton Native Leading NDSU Women's Basketball Program
Jory Collins

Holton native Jory Collins, head coach of the North Dakota State women’s basketball team, is set to square off against another Holton native, Deandra Schrimer, who is the head coach of Chattanooga.

The two teams are set to square off in the Women’s Basketball Invitational Tournament. We highlighted Deandra Schrimer previously in our “Blast from the Past” last season when she was in her first season with Chattanooga.

Collins went to Holton high school and graduated from Emporia State in 2002. He was the head coach at Emporia State from 2010-2018 and captured multiple MIAA titles during his tenure.

He spent one season as an assistant at Kansas before going to NDSU in 2019 having been on the staff since.

Collins has led NDSU to three straight 20-win seasons with last season advancing his team to the WNIT quarterfinals.
