(KTNC) - Southeast Community College finished 7th in the final team standings at the NJCAA Division Two Golf Championships, which wrapped up Friday in Scottsboro, Alabama.
The Storm shot a combined team score of 1191 over the four-day tournament. That was 39 strokes over par and 52 behind team champion South Mountain Community College of Arizona, which ran away with the team title at 13-under par, the only team under par for the tournament. Walters State Community College of Tennessee was second at 19-over.
David Keenan of Parkland College was the individual medallist at eight-under par 280. Four golfers finished at three-under par, including Calvin Freeman of Southeast Community College, who finished 4th in the final standings with rounds of 70, 73, 70, and 72.
The top-10 showing earned Freeman a place on the Division II Golf All-America First Team, and he was one of 18 golfers named to the All-Tournament Team.
Other scores for Southeast, Mike Downey tied for 38th place at 12-over par 300, Liam Chambers tied for 45th place at 302, Zach Taylor tied for 63rd place at 305, and Austin Miller tied for 97th place with a 319 total.
