                      (KLZA) The  High School football season begins for a number of area teams tonight.  On SUNNY  101.3 we will bring you the Mound City at Tarkio 8-Man game tonight.  On A-M  1230 KTNC it will be Sterling at Johnson-Brock. 
The Tarkio  Indians will host Mound City tonight.  Second year head coach Ty Ratliff says he  plans to use an old-school approach. ( play audio  :42 seconds )  
Mound City  is one of the traditional powers in Missouri 8-Man football.  Head Coach Brian  Messer says he thinks this years seniors are ready to take their turn as leaders  of the program.  ( play audio  :21 seconds )

Our  pre-game coverage tonight begins at 6:30 p-m with a visit with Peru State Head  Coach Steve Schneider.  Kickoff is 7 p-m at Tarkio.  
On A-M  1230 KTNC tonight you can hear the Johnson-Brock Eagles take on Sterling.  It is  always exciting to begin the new season but for Johnson-Brock,  the new field  turf put in this summer has brought renewed enthusiasm to the team and everyone  involved according to Coach Brett Davis. The Auburn  Bulldogs begin the season with the traditional rivalry contest with the Nebraska  City Pioneers.  Coach Kellen Conroy says it is something both teams look forward  to.  ( play audio  :28 seconds )  Tonight contest is in Nebraska  City. 
The Rock  Port Bluejays open a new chapter in their proud football history tonight.  The  Bluejays play their first 8-Man game at home against last years state champion  Worth County Tigers.  Coach Ross Hastert says after some uneasiness, he thinks  the players are ready for the change and he feels like the fans in Rock Port are  ready to see something new as well.
