Jeff County North Track Team Leads Area Performances at McLouth Invitational

2019 McLouth Invitational Track Meet Results – Girls & Boys

The track season rolled along Friday afternoon for area teams competing at the McLouth Invitational and it was Jefferson County North girls and boys who each led team performances.

The Charger girls finished the day with four first place finishes which was good enough for second as a team, led by Karisa Schmalz who won the pole vault. The Chargers also swept the relay events, winning the 4 by 100, 400 and 800-meter relays.

Horton, McLouth and Oskaloosa also each had one first place finish as the Chargers had Kailea Smith win gold in the javelin while the Bulldogs had Sarah Dailey win the shot put and the Bears Olivia Kilgo in the triple jump.

On the boy’s side JCN finished first in the team standings which came behind seven first place finishes.

Trevor Pentlin won the 1600 meter run for the Chargers, while Caden McAfee won the javelin, Mason Noll the pole vault and George Gigstad the shot put. The Chargers also swept the relay events winning the 4 by 100, 400- and 800-meter relays.

Maur Hill-Mount Academy added three more first place finishes, as Joseph Hernandez won the 200-meter dash and 300-meter hurdles while Taylor Folsom won the high jump.

Horton rounded out the day with three gold medals as well, led by Gunnar Madere who won the long jump and triple jump while Clayton Higley won the discus throw.
