K-Preps have updated their rankings entering the third week of the high school football season with plenty of area teams highlighted once again.

8M-II #1 Axtell has that spot on lock for the time being as they improved to 2-0 last week with another big win against Washington County. They extend their 8M state record winning streak record to 54.

Hanover has had an impressive start to the year as they are 2-0 and ranked #3 in 8M-II behind only Axtell and Victoria. They beat Clifton-Clyde by 50 in week two and have outscored their first two opponents 88-14.

Jackson Heights is the new #1 ranked team in Class 1A as they're 2-0 after beating Maur Hill-Mount Academy 69-6 in week two. The Cobras were ranked #2 in the first two weeks but defending champs Conway Springs took their first loss of the season and dropped to #3.

Rossville is up to #2 in Class 1A as they have had an impressive start to the season with close wins against Silver Lake and St. Marys. The Bulldogs will have a lot of eyes on them in week three as they will host 2A #2 Nemaha Central.

The Thunder hold down that #2 spot for a third straight week behind only defending champs Southeast of Saline. NC QB Carter Hajek was named MSC Athlete of the week after going for 265 rushing yards and four touchdowns against Silver Lake.
