The Centralia Panthers went on the road last night to face the Onaga Buffaloes at Rosenfield Sporting Complex in Onaga, Kansas. Both teams entered 1-1 having won their week one matchups, and losing their week two. Centralia dominated for mostly all forty-eight minutes of the contest, winning by a final score of 44-8.

Centralia Wins Over Onaga 44-8

Onaga started with the ball and on their opening drive in two plays fumbled it to Centralia at the Panther’s forty-eight yard line. Centralia wasted no time to get their first score up on the board off a 15-yard rush from Quintin Alderfer. Centralia would add another touchdown in the first quarter after being set up on the fifty by a tipped pass interception from Degan Ronnebuam, his first of two on the night for Centralia. Alderfer would score his second touchdown of the game with a 26-yard touchdown pass to Landon Beck, dropping it into his bread basket.

The first quarter ended 15-0 as well as the first half, Centralia locked out of the end zone for the second quarter. Onaga had a really great opportunity being set up from a bad snap from the punt team on Centralia, getting the ball at the Centralia twenty-five. Unfortunately it wouldn’t take long for Ronnebuam to get his second interception of the night to get the rock right back to Centralia. The Panthers would end the first half throwing an interception into the end zone to Keagan Venneberg.

Centralia struggled with penalties in the first half, forcing stalled and even longer drives, but it wouldn’t take much for coach Roger Holthaus to correct his team and get them back on the right track, as Centralia would put up 29 points in the second half. Both Isaac Rienecke and Xavier Boeckman rushed for touchdowns in the second half, while Quinton Alderfer added two more scores himself. Down 44-0 Onaga would find their lone touchdown of the game from Ryder Kolterman to Cameron Kramer on a 45-yard beauty down the field with about fifty-five seconds to go in the game.

Centralia’s offense finished with well over four-hundred yards, with an easy nearly over 300 yards coming from Quintin Alderfer. Alderfer finished with 224 rushing yards for three scores, and added 77 yards passing for another touchdown. (All Stats Unofficial Except Scoring)

Centralia now extends their winning streak against Onaga to twenty-three straight games, leading the all-time series 30-12. Centralia improves to 2-1 on the season while Onaga falls to 1-2. Next up Centralia travels to play Doniphan West and Onaga travels up to play Valley Falls.
