Centralia Girls Win Cross Country Meet at Nemaha Central

The Centralia girls cross country team won the Nemaha Central Invitational at Spring Creek Golf Course on Thursday afternoon. 

The Panthers edged out the Thunder who finished in second place followed by Valley Falls in third place. 

Centralia got a fifth place finish from Kya Franklin, a sixth place finish from Kaylee Olberding, a ninth place finish from Keelyn Rempe, a 12th place finish from Kambrie Rempe, and a 16th place finish from Riley Broxterman. 

Cora Langill of Nemaha Central won the event with a time of 21:17.01. Belle Smith of Doniphan West finished second, Ella Grable of Troy finished in third, and Emma Warders of Valley Heights finished in fourth. 

St. Marys Academy won the boys event and had the individual champion with Ambrose Childs with a time of 16:53.60. 

Axtell finished second in the team standings led by Henry Stallbaumer in 12th place. Bill Lybarger finished in 14th place, and Ethan Ronnebaum finished in 22nd place. 

Rounding out the top five in the boys race was Titus Cobb of Blue Valley-Randolph in second, Harry Langill of Nemaha Central in third, Kebeb Zimmerman of Valley Heights in fourth, and Kristopher Fulkerson of Centralia in fifth.
