The Jefferson West Tigers improved to 5-1 on Friday night by beating Perry-Lecompton at home 47-14.

Jeff West got the only points of the first quarter on a blocked punt that was recovered in the endzone for a touchdown.

The lead for the Tigers would get to 21-0 at halftime with two more touchdowns in the second quarter. The first was a five-yard run from quarterback Brixton Schwinn with the other from Brody Thelen on a five-yard run.

The passing game would get going for the Tigers in the second half as Schwinn tossed a pair of touchdown passes in the third quarter with one going to Crayton Holman and the other going to Brody Schwinn.

The Kaws (1-5) would get on the board with back-to-back touchdown drives to get to within 34-14. They would get short touchdown runs from Garrett Metcalfe and Amos Brackenhoff.

Perry would recover an onside kick and make things interesting early in the fourth quarter but they were unable to capitalize on the opportunity.

Jeff West would add two more touchdowns late to really put the game away with another Brixton to Brody connection followed by a pick-six from Holman to seal it.
