(4-2) Clifton-Clyde at (0-6) Rock Hills
Clifton-Clyde lost to the undefeated Sylvan-Lucas Mustangs 44-8 last week. Now both Sylvan-Lucas and Lincoln are 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the district. The loss ended a stout three-game winning streak for the Eagles in which they were outscoring their opponents 86-22 in that stretch with two shutouts.
Rock Hills lost to Washington County 68-16 last Friday to drop to 0-3 in the district and now are in a must-win game against Clifton-Clyde this week. Rock Hills has been outscored 299-36 on the year.
Last season, Clifton-Clyde beat Rock Hills 56-8. The Eagles are 8-3 all-time against the Grizzlies.

(2-4) Lakeside at (2-4) Washington County
The Lakeside Knights lost 64-6 to Lincoln, giving up 20 points in the first quarter and 44 points in the second. Junior Knight’s quarterback Eli Schmitt went 11 of 26 for 179 yards passing with one touchdown and two interceptions. The Knights rushed for 39 total yards off 22 carries, averaging just 1.8 yards a carry. Landon Baetz had five receptions for 105 yards and a score to lead the Knights at receiving in the lopsided match-up.
Washington County earned its first district win of the season and its first one in over two years against Rock Hills last week, 68-16. The last time Washington County put up 68 points in a game was back in 2020 against Marantha Academy, 68-20. The Tigers have also already doubled their win total from last season.
Last year, this was the closest match-up in the regular season for Washington to capture a district win, but unfortunately for the Tigers they would lose in a heartbreaker, 38-32. Washington County still leads the all-time series against the Knights 2-1.

(6-0) Axtell at (6-0) Hanover – 92.1 KMZA
Axtell has extended their winning streak to 58 games with their dominant win last week, 56-0. In a positive for St. Paul compared to Axtell’s previous two weeks, not all of the points were scored in the first quarter. This Eagle team remains a top team at #1-ranked in 8M-ll, led by Wyatt Detweiler, whose 39 of 45 for 644 yards and 13 touchdowns on the season with no interceptions, while also rushing for an additional 318 yards and 11 touchdowns off 31 carries. The Eagles have combined for 1,292 total yards this season and 35 total offensive touchdowns.
Hanover won against the Wakefield Bombers 53-6 last Friday, with an impressive 44 points scored in the first quarter of action. The Bombers were held to 26 total players while only picking up 2 total first downs. Hanover's defense only surrendered 63 total yards of offense to Wakefield, allowing an average of just 2.7 yards per carry. Hanover is the #3-ranked team in 8M-ll.
This is one of the most anticipated games in the state of Kansas. Can Hanover end the Axtell winning streak? Well, last year they thought the same thing and lost 58-12 to the Eagles. Axtell has won five straight games against the Wildcats.

(0-6) Wakefield at (3-3) Frankfort
Wakefield bumped into one of the top teams in 8M-ll in Hanover last Friday and lost 53-6. Wakefield’s offense only produced two first downs in the game while being held to three passing yards and 60 rushing yards, averaging only 2.7 yards a carry.
Frankfort is finally back to .500 this year after they finished a first-half finish last week against Blue Valley-Randolph 52-6 in one of their most dominant games this season. Wes Anderson had another terrific game with five carries for 43 yards and two touchdowns, while also tossing 140 yards and a score. Henry Ketter continued to dominate the ground game with seven carries for 77 yards and two touchdowns.
Since 2000, Frankfort is 3-2 against Wakefield, including last season’s victory 60-0.

(3-2) Osborne at (4-2) Linn
Osborne came out on top of a high-scoring shootout last Friday, 72-42 against Norwich. Freshman quarterback Tate Tiernan went 19 of 27 for 233 yards with three touchdowns. The Bulldogs rushed on the ground for 422 total yards, with Tiernan also leading the way with 13 carries for 218 yards and two touchdowns. Osborne had 655 yards of total offense with the ten total touchdowns scored.
Linn has now won three straight after their heartbreaking 8-0 loss to Clifton-Clyde. The Bulldogs defeated Pike Valley 68-14 last week. Linn held Pike Valley to 22 yards passing, coming away with one interception. Pike Valley was also only permitted 41 yards rushing with an average of 1.6 yards per carry.
Linn lost last year 54-0 against Osborne. Linn is now 0-4 in the battle of the Bulldogs against Osborne.

(5-1) Rossville at (5-1) Olpe
Since the week three loss to Nemaha Central, Rossville has been one of the most dominant teams in 1A over the last three weeks. They beat Cair Paravel on the road last week 49-14 and have outscored their last three opponents 173-20. Last week, Rossville rushed for over 280 yards and averaged nearly nine yards per carry.
Since a season opening loss to undefeated Osage City 41-13, traditional powerhouse Olpe have been in cruise control with five straight wins including last week at Mission Valley 42-6. They’ve outscored their opponents in their five wins this season 255-19.
These are the two 3-0 teams in district #2 with the winner in prime position for the district championship. Rossville won the game last season against Olpe 28-0.

(1-5) Pleasant Ridge at (2-4) Onaga
Pleasant Ridge fell to McLouth last week, 24-14, and it was a massive district match-up for both teams, who were at the bottom half of the district last week. Pleasant Ridge had now lost four straight games after their win over Doniphan West 21-14. Since that win, the Rams have been outscored 196-38.
The Onaga Buffaloes ran into the #1-ranked Class 1A team last week, Jackson Heights, and lost 55-0. Onaga was only down 7-0 after the first quarter but was quickly down 35-0 by the end of the first half. The Buffaloes allowed 538 yards of offense in the loss, including well over 350 yards rushing.
Last season, both teams met for the first time. Onaga completely dominated the game 50-13.

(6-0) Jackson Heights at (1-5) Valley Falls – Cobra Channel
Jackson Heights dropped a fifty-burger on Onaga last Friday, 55-0 in their Dave Henry honoring home game. Drake Mellies had a stellar night, going 6 of 9 passing for 167 yards and two touchdowns, while also adding 334 yards and five touchdowns off 11 carries. Mellies surpassed over 7,500 all-purpose yards in with win while also earning over 100 career varsity touchdowns. Mellies also broke the single-game rushing record for Jackson Heights with the 334-yard performance. Cobras remain #1-ranked in Class 1A.
Valley Falls has lost five straight games now after their week one victory, 6-0 over Horton. The Dragons have been outscored this season 150-30, being shut out twice this season and held to six points across three of their games.
Jackson Heights put up their most points last season in a game with their 74-0 win over Valley Falls. The Cobras lead the all-time series 19-9 over the Dragons.

(2-4) McLouth at (6-0) Jefferson County North
McLouth is on a little bit of a run with their second straight win last week since starting the season 0-4. The Bulldogs won a home game against Pleasant Ridge last week 24-14 after beating Valley Falls the previous week 26-12. The win for McLouth put them at 2-1 in district play and third place in the standings behind only Jackson Heights and Jefferson County North.
The Jefferson County North Chargers remain one of five undefeated teams in 1A as they blanked Valley Falls at home last week 48-0. It was the Chargers fourth shutout this season as their defense has allowed a total of 20 points so far this season. Will Elias threw for 170 yards and four touchdowns with Christopher Noll finishing with five receptions for 82 yards and three touchdowns against the Dragons.
McLouth beat JCN last season 30-14 which snapped a three-game losing streak to the Chargers. Since 2004, JCN is 11-8 against McLouth in that stretch and have won six of the last eight.

(1-5) Doniphan West at (5-1) Riverside
Doniphan West found its first win of the season against Maur Hill Mount Academy 12-7, and it was a must-needed district win for the Mustangs. Both touchdowns scored for the Mustangs involved the Peterson brothers as senior quarterback Kolter Peterson found Michael Albers on a 35-yard touchdown pass, while freshman running back Ketcher Peterson had a 7-yard scamper and score.
Riverside has bounced back with five straight wins after their week one 21-0 loss to Jackson Heights. The Cyclones took care of Troy last Friday, 28-0, scoring 21 points in the third quarter after a 0-0 halftime. Beckam Griffin had two rushing touchdowns and one passing score to Ty’Zell Harrington, while Mason Hayes added another rushing touchdown in the second half for the Cyclones.
Riverside won last season 40-8 over Doniphan West. The Cyclones are 5-2 all-time against the Mustangs.

(5-1) Centralia at (4-2) Troy
Centralia won last week due to a forfeit from Horton because of injuries, improving Centralia to 3-0 in the district. The Panthers have now won four straight games and finish out their schedule with a decent stretch against Troy and Riverside. Potentially setting up a district championship against Riverside next Friday.
Troy was handed their second loss of the season last Friday, 28-0, against Riverside. Which apprehended their four-game streak. The Trojans went into the half against the Cyclones 0-0 but just couldn’t find any production in the second half. Troy allowed 21 points to come in the third quarter.
Troy lost to the state runners-up last season, just 28-0. Centralia leads the all-time series against the Trojans 21-10.

(1-5) Maur Hill-Mount Academy at (0-6) Horton
Maur Hill-Mount Academy’s playoff chances took a big hit last week as they gave Doniphan West their first win of the season 12-7. The Ravens have been outscored in their five losses this season 210-13 and have been shutout three times.
Horton’s tough 2025 season continued last week as they had to forfeit their game against Centralia with a lack of numbers paired with multiple injuries. Two weeks ago, they lost against Riverside at home 51-0 and have scored just 20 points in five games.
These two teams are on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoffs with the winner giving themselves a slim chance going into next week. Since 2007, Maur Hill is 10-6 against Horton but the Chargers have won the last two meetings against the Ravens including last season 20-19.

(5-1) Republic County at (4-2) Valley Heights
The Republic County Buffaloes have won four straight games, including last week’s win over Remington 22-0. The Buffaloes had 40 carries for 233 yards for three touchdowns, averaging 5.8 yards per carry. Four different ball carriers went over 38+ yards for Republic County last Friday.
Valley Heights has won back-to-back games for the second time this season. Last week, Valley Heights won 49-6 over Herington. The Mustangs held the Railroaders to 113 yards of offense, while restraining Herington to 3.2 yards per carry off 13 carries for 42 total yards.
Valley Heights won last season 51-6 over Republic County. Two years ago, Valley Heights won in overtime 22-16 and currently lead the all-time series 5-1.

(6-0) Osage City at (4-2) Silver Lake – Silver Lake Channel
2A #3 Osage City rolled to 6-0 last week beating St. Marys in district play 49-14. The Indians have the number two scoring offense in the classification with 315 points in six games. In the win against the Bears, Osage City piled up 470 yards with wide receiver Quenten Stark going ham with eight receptions for 173 yards and three scores.
After losing to Rossville and Nemaha Central in the first two weeks of the season, the Eagles have rattled off four straight wins including last week at Riley County 42-8. Kip Kruger threw for 227 yards and three touchdowns while Bryson Burgos rushed for 159 yards and two touchdowns while averaging 12 yards per carry. The Eagles have outscored their opponents during this four-game winning streak 129-27.
These are the two 2-0 teams in district 3 with the winner in prime position for the district championship. Osage City beat Silver Lake last season 35-21 with the Indians piling up over 350 yards of total offense.

(5-1) Council Grove at (3-3) St. Marys
After losing 43-0 against Osage City a couple of weeks ago, Council Grove got back on track last week with a 55-8 win at Central Heights in a non-district game. In four of their five wins this season, the Braves defense has held their opponents to eight points or less. The Braves have been fairly balanced on offense this season averaging 158 passing and 146 rushing yards per game.
St. Marys had all sorts of issues last week against 2A #3 Osage City as they lost 49-14. Bears quarterback Lane Smith completed 13 passes for 191 yards and a touchdown but the Bears could only muster up 22 rushing yards on 21 carries. The Bears defense gave up over 450 yards to Osage City.
St. Marys beat Council Grove last season 22-6 as they held Council Grove to 13 rushing yards on 21 carries and forced three interceptions.

(2-4) Oskaloosa at (5-1) Sabetha – Sabetha Channel
Oskaloosa is coming off a non-district loss at home to Hiawatha last week 56-13 for their fourth straight loss. The Bears defense couldn’t stop the Redhawks rushing attack as they surrendered 421 yards. Since beating Pleasant Ridge and Valley Falls in the first two weeks of the season, the Bears have been outscored 192-33 over their last four games.
Sabetha got down early, rallied, but came up just a touch short last week in the Nemaha County rivalry losing to Nemaha Central in Seneca 20-18 for their first loss of the season. The Thunder were averaging 46 points per game going into the matchup with Sabetha and the Bluejays held them to their lowest point total of the season.
Sabetha controls their own destiny in the district standings for a home playoff game in week nine while Oskaloosa is the lone team in district 4 without a win, so they need to put something together over the final couple of weeks to make the playoffs. Sabetha won the matchup last season at Oskaloosa 49-6.

(6-0) Nemaha Central at (2-4) Royal Valley
2A #2 Nemaha Central held on to beat Sabetha last week 20-18 to improve to 6-0 on the season. Thunder quarterback Carter Hajek passed for 159 yards and rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns. Nemaha Central will secure their second straight Big East league title with a win at Royal Valley, and they control their own destiny for the district championship.
Royal Valley snapped a four-game losing streak with a 35-7 district win last week at ACCHS. The Panthers defense held the Tigers rushing attack to 121 yards on just 3.3 yards per carry. It was a big win for Royal Valley as it was their first district win and sets them up for an opportunity to make the playoffs.
Since 2004, Nemaha Central is 10-4 against Royal Valley with the Thunder winning last season 40-16. NC has won eight straight against the Panthers with Royal Valley’s last win against the Thunder coming back in 2011.

(2-4) Hiawatha at (3-3) Holton – 103.9 KNZA + Hiawatha & Holton Channels
Holton dropped their second straight district game and fell to 3-3 on the season with a 53-22 loss at Hayden last week. The Wildcats ran for 317 yards but fumbled three times including once at the Hayden one-yard-line and twice inside their own 30. Holton is allowing more than 29 points per game this year and has struggled against the pass. Offensively, the Cats are averaging 383 rushing yards per outing with a balanced attack that includes Andrew Shupe, Korban Wilson, and Alec Frazier all over 500 yards and Cael Frazier with more than 400 in the ground game.
Hiawatha won their second game of the season and dominated Oskaloosa 56-13 last week after scoring only 7 points total the previous three games combined. Karson Henry ran for nearly 150 yards and scored three touchdowns and added a passing touchdown to Michael Jensen. Ethan Morton also ran for over 150 yards and scored three times while the Redhawk defense had a pair of interceptions. Now the Redhawks are looking for their first three-win-season since 2021.
Holton has won 23 straight games against Hiawatha dating back to week one of 2001 with a margin of at least 10 points in the last 11 years. Last year Holton won 35-14 and it will be the Wildcats final district game before playing at Leavenworth next week. Hiawatha has a district matchup remaining against Perry Lecompton.

(6-0) Hayden at (1-5) Perry-Lecompton
3A #2 Hayden beat down Holton last week in district play 56-22. They turned a 7-6 lead in the second quarter to a dominant 28-7 halftime lead in the span of 93 seconds. It was Hayden’s fourth straight win against Holton and they’re now 11-5 against Holton over their last 16 meetings. The 31-point margin of victory tied the biggest for either side in the series since 2005.
Perry-Lecompton followed up their first win of the season last week with a 47-14 loss at Jefferson West. The Kaws found some success on offense in the second with back-to-back touchdown drives finishing with over 200 yards of offense.
Perry-Lecompton and Hiawatha are the two teams entering week seven without a district win with their matchup against the Redhawks in week eight. Hayden dominated Perry-Lecompton in the game last season 50-16.

(1-5) Blue Valley-Randolph at (2-4) St. Johns-Tipton
Blue Valley-Randolph lost to Frankfort in just the first half, 52-6, last week. Jarin Brenner led the Rams with ten carries for 36 yards, while the Rams rushed as a team for 55 total yards. Aeron Innes only managed to complete 7 of 13 for 62 yards and a touchdown while adding one interception. Brenner added 21 yards receiving and caught the sole touchdown amongst the carnage in the first quarter.
The St. Johns-Tipton Bluejays have now lost back-to-back games and fell last week 76-49 to Thunder Ridge in a shootout. Blue Jays senior quarterback Edward Horinek was 6 of 10 for 113 yards, while younger sophomore quarterback Brooks Dunstan went 12 of 21 for 147 yards and four touchdowns. They rushed as a team for 64 yards, while on the other side surrendered 365 yards on the ground.
The Rams destroyed the Bluejays 48-0 last season. This all-time series is tied up 3-3; the victory last season for Blue Valley snapped a three-game losing streak to St. Johns-Tipton.

After starting the season 3-1, ACCHS have now lost back-to-back games including last week against Royal Valley at home 35-7. The Tigers rushed for 121 yards and were led by Max Bottorff with 15 carries for 52 yards and the lone touchdown. The Tigers have been outscored in their last two games against Sabetha and Royal Valley 81-14.
The Tigers of Jefferson West continue to be one of the top headlines in the state. They’re one fourth quarter stretch from being undefeated, but they improved to 5-1 last week with a big time win at home against Perry-Lecompton 47-14. Brixton Schwinn threw for over 200 yards and had four total touchdowns while Crayton Holman scored twice including a pick-six in the fourth quarter.
At this point last season, Jefferson West was already eliminated from postseason contention, but they would go on to beat the Tigers 29-6.

The Hesston Swathers are a legit contender in 3A as they beat Wichita Trinity at home last week 66-34 for their fourth straight win. Hesston’s lone loss was against Hoisington 39-23 back in week two. Swathers quarterback Jerick Humphreys has completed 76% of his passes this season for 1,025 yards with 10 touchdowns while Blayne Wilson is averaging 150 rushing yards per game with 13 touchdowns.
Riley County couldn’t get much going in their game last week as they lost against Silver Lake at home 42-8. Riley County has had a difficult schedule with their five losses coming against teams that area all .500 or better. Hesston blanked Riley County last season 28-0.

The Parsons Vikings got back to .500 last week with a 27-6 win at home against Neodesha. The Vikings three losses this season have come against Labette County, Christ Prep, and Frontenac. The three wins for Parsons have come against Fort Scott, Baxter Springs, and Neodesha. They have one of the premier running backs in 3A with Chandler Hentzen averaging 177 yards per game with 10 touchdowns.
Atchison’s run in the Meadowlark Conference has been dashed over the last couple of weeks with back-to-back losses against KC Washington and most recently last Thursday at Highland Park 42-18. In the loss to the Scots, Leighton Boldridge had 12 carries for 113 yards.
Atchison had no problem with Parsons last season winning the game 48-0.
