The Oskaloosa girls and Jefferson County North boys took home the Northeast Kansas League Cross Country Titles hosted by Jackson Heights on Thursday afternoon.
The Lady Bears had two finish inside the top five and five finish inside the top 18. Annabelle Shelkey finished in second place with a time of 21:18.53 while Emma Vogel finished not far behind in fourth place.
Raelynn Blanton of Horton was the individual champion as she finished with a time of 20:48.30. Ella Grable of Troy finished in third place and Clare Trotter of Maur Hill-Mount Academy finished in fifth place.
Valley Falls finished in second place behind Oski in the team standings and were led by Brooklynn Schmelzle in eighth place while Dakota Boyce finished in 12th place.
Other finishes in the top 10 were Rachel Cera of Riverside in sixth, Abby Templeton of Pleasant Ridge in seventh, Rowan Robey of Jefferson County North in ninth, and Isabella Black of Maur Hill-Mount Academy in 10th.
The JCN boys had a strong showing posting the top two runners in the event. Lucas Meredith was the individual champion with a time of 17:14.27 which was more than a minute faster than his teammate Max Kane who finished in second. They also had Caliber Beecham in 11th and Judah Borg in 13th.
Jackson Heights finished second behind JCN as they had three in the top 10 with Talen Browning in sixth, Grant Bales in eighth, and Duke Condo in ninth.
Rounding it out in the team standings was ACCHS in third place followed by McLouth, Horton, Pleasant Ridge, and Oskaloosa.
Remaining top 10 finishes came from Eric Ashworth of Riverside in third, Corbin Madden of Maur Hill-Mount Academy in fourth, Grayson Burnett of McLouth in fifth, Thatcher Strube of Horton in seventh, and Aiden Jamvold of Horton in 10th. Complete results can be found here.
