The Jefferson County North Chargers drew a tough pull in their semi-final by taking on the undefeated #1-seeded and #1-ranked Ellinwood Eagles. After losing in straight sets in the semi-final to the Eagles, the Chargers fell to Hillsboro in the Class 2A Third-Place Match in straight sets as well.

Ellinwood swept Jefferson County North in Straight sets 25-10 and 25-14. Taylor Schrick did a hefty amount of work for JCN with about four kills and a block, but it wasn’t enough to get the Chargers over the hill. The Chargers mostly struggled against their own net and sent spikes too long. Ellinwood took advantage of the opportunities, and both Kyndall Moore and Mette Maxwell for the Eagles went off in the front court for them.

Jefferson County North lost to Hillsboro 25-16 and 25-14 in straight sets in a little bit of a similar fashion. The Chargers had set one close down, only 11-8, before Hillsboro would finally start to separate the score. JCN did come out up 3-0 in set two, but the Trojans would swing back the momentum early to their side, and after getting back up 11-8 again, they would be able to flee away with the win.

The Jefferson County North Chargers graduate just one senior in Rylee Thompson, who finished the season with over 310 kills. JCN will be an electric and fun team to look out for next season, bringing back so much fire and star power onto the court.

JCN ends the year 42-7 and places 4th in the 2A state volleyball tournament.
