Nemaha Central’s Carter Hajek capped a historic four-year career in 2025 with yet another state championship, solidifying his place as one of the best football players Kansas has ever seen.

Hajek’s final game in Hutchinson was a dominant 35–6 victory over Southeast of Saline, giving the Thunder their third state title in four years. He rushed for 224 yards and two touchdowns in the championship, finishing his career with a staggering 7,889 rushing yards and 129 touchdowns, becoming only the eighth 11-man player in Kansas history to surpass 7,000 career rushing yards.

The accolades continued to pile up as Hajek was named All-Classes Offensive Player of the Year, 2A Offensive Player of the Year, and earned a spot on the All-Classes Top 11 by Sports in Kansas.

With record-breaking stats, countless honors, and a championship to cap his career, Hajek’s 2025 season stands out as one of the top sports moments of the year, a fitting finale for a legendary high school football career.
