Nebraska Boys State Tournament coverage coming up

(KLZA)-- Three southeast Nebraska teams will participate in the Nebraska Boys State Basketball Tournament in Lincoln beginning Thursday. 

In Class C1, Auburn, 26-0 and ranked #1 in Class C1 will try to make it back-to-back state titles.  The Bulldogs will play Ashland-Greenwood (17-8) in the opening round Thursday afternoon at 2 at the Devaney Sports Center.  

A Thursday win would put the Bulldogs in the semifinals Friday morning at 10:45 at Pinnacle Bank Arena against either #3 seed Lincoln Christian or #6 seed Wayne.  The championship game would be Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. A third place game would be Saturday afternoon at 3 at Lincoln Northeast High School.

In Class D2,  Falls City Sacred Heart and Johnson-Brock will battle for the third time this season in the opening round.  

The Irish are the #2 seed at 26-1 and will take on the #7 seed Johnson-Brock (18-8) at 7:00 P.M. Thursday evening at Lincoln East High School.  The winner will advance to the semifinal game Friday afternoon at 3:45 at the Devaney Sports Center.  The D2 Championship game will be Saturday afternoon at 4:30 with a third place game at 9:00 A.M., at Lincoln Northeast.
