It was a big day on Saturday for one former area standout athlete as with the conclusion of the 2020 NFL Draft, former Horton Charger and K-State Wildcat Trey Dishon announced he signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Dishon joins the team that made the No. 1 overall selection of Heisman Trophy Winning quarterback Joe Burrow and the team that is looking to rebound after going just 2-14 a year ago.

A four-year starter, he posted career highs this past season for the Wildcats in solo tackles (23), tackles for loss (5.5) and tied his career high in sacks (3).

He started all 50 career games played over his four-year career, including a streak of 48 to close out his career and finished with eight total sacks in his time at K-State.

Dishon earned an honorable mention all-Big 12 selection in 2017 and was a second team all-Big 12 freshman selection in 2016.

At Horton he was a four-year letter winner and helped lead the Chargers to a 7-2 record and a playoff appearance his senior season.

He also earned Class 3A all-state selections from the Topeka Capital-Journal and Wichita Eagle while claiming a 3A powerlifting state title in 2013.

Dishon will now get set to compete for a spot on the Bengals when training camp begins and continue his legacy throughout Northeast Kansas.
