Up 44-42 with less than a minute to go Wetmore saw Blue Valley steal the game late with a game winning touchdown in the final minute of the contest, after the Cardinals had fought back from multiple score holes twice in the game.
Cole Montgomery had 3 TD passes for Blue Valley, while Trevor Schwerdt had a 30-yard TD reception, 14-yard TD run and 73-yard kickoff return TD. Bradley Young caught 2 TDs and added a TD run.
Wetmore in the loss had Kyler Vance catch 4 passes for 101 yards and 3 TDs and added a TD run, while Garrett Evans had 108 yards on 15 carries with a TD. Joel Hutfles was 6-20 for 116 yards with 3 TDs, while Ethan Osterhaus returned a fumble recovery for a TD.
