Nemaha Central's Cooper Hajek ran for 200 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns in the Thunder's win. QB Brayden Uphaus also went 12-16 with 134 passing yards and a passing touchdown.

The game featured four lead changes and one tie at 21 as Holton had to recover from an early 13-0 defecit. The Wildcats had Garyson Booth and Jayden Fletcher each run for more than 100 yards in the battle of teams both ranked #2 in their respective classes to start the season.
