Holton Wildcats started their defense of the 4A State title with a opening round drubbing of Hesston. Wildcats ran the ball with effectiveness yet again and were lead by Brendan Hampton who had 167 yards on 20 carries and 2 TDs. Andrew Rieschick posted 85 yards on 8 carries and TD, while Ethan Holaday and Drake Ewing each had a rushing TD. Holton put things firmly in their favor in the second half scoring 30 of their 45 after halftime. Defensively, Justin Rieschick had a fumble recovery TD.
