Behind the potent rushing attack and stifling defense the Centralia-Wetmore Panthers continued to dominated their opponents crushing LaCrosse to win the 2-1A State title. It was the third football state title in school history as the Panthers finished the season off with perfection.
Offensively the Panthers posted 532 yards on the ground, while only one pass in the contest and Sam Steinlage lead the way with 254 yards on 14 carries and 4 TDs. JT Rosine added 81 yards on 11 carries and TD, Trevor Mars had 12 carries for 65 yards TD, while Devin Rempe, Johnathan Johnson and Chad Ballenger each had a rushing TD.
On defense the Panthers held the Leopards of LaCrosse to 138 yards of total offense, while snatching 5 INTs and blocking a punt. Darrian Turner, Wyatt VanDorn, Rosine, Rempe and Braden Deters all recorded INTs in the game, while Brett Burdiek had 10 tackles and Joey Ferron added 7 tackles, sack and blocked punt.
