It was a tight competition all the way down to the wire as Tonganoxie held the lead after a 24-11 2nd quarter but Atchison answered with a 16-8 3rd quarter and the game perhaps looked like it was destined for overtime but Tonganoxie had other things in mind. Cheiftian, Ben Johnson tossed up a jumper at the buzzer and hit it to win the game. Atchison in the loss was led by Wykeen Gill who scored 20 points, while Jerome Luster added 16 points.
