The Sabetha Bluejays used the strong defensive showing to snap a 7-game losing to their rival the Nemaha Central Thunder and win in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs. Bluejays led just 6-0 at the half but scored on the opening drive of the second half and lead 28-0 late in the game. Brett Plattner ran for 203 yards on 20 carries with a TD, while Kegan Schumann added 62 yards on 16 carries with 2 TDs and Brandon Poe had a rushing TD.
Nemaha Central was led by Ryan Hasenkamp in the loss who was 13-25 for 165 yards a TD and INT, with the TD pass going to Dalton Rottinghaus with 2:24 left to go in the game. The Thunder were held to just 52 yards on the ground, while also turning the ball over twice.
