After winning two of their final three games of the season to get to the playoffs the Jeff West Tigers bowed out in the opening round of the 4A-DII playoffs falling to Santa Fe Trail, who won their first playoff game since 1996. In the loss, Luke Herring led the Tigers with 173 yards on 27 carries, while Jacob Dickey chipped in 72 yards on 10 carries with 2 TDs and was 5-10 for 43 yards. The Tigers did actually outgain Santa Fe Trail 305 to 264 total yards of offense, but had the games only turnover.
Santa Fe Trail led 12-6 at the half and Darric Cashier paced the way with 103 yards and 3 TDs on 12 carries. Weston Gloss tossed a TD pass to Trevor Boudeman.
