Football - Troy vs Valley Heights 11/07/2014 7:00 PM

Troy Trojans for the second straight year picked up a opening round 2-1A playoff victory, taking down a familiar foe in Valley Heights. The first time around the game was decided by 17 points, this time around it was all Troy winning by 44 points. The Trojans led 36-0 at the half and held a 50-0 lead before Valley Heights broke through with their lone score. Tristan Speer was 9-18 for 154 yards with 3 TDs, while running for 129 yards on 13 carries with 3 TDs. Cuttar Huss caught five passes for 76 yards and 2 TDs, while Collin Jasper snagged a TD pass and Derek Franken added 68 yards on 9 carries with a TD.

Valley Heights in the loss had 3 turnovers and got their lone TD on a 49-yard pass from Gage Woodyard to Logan Woodyard. Gage finished 3-6 for 73 yards, while Logan had 73 yards on the ground on 11 carries with a TD rec and Keaton DeWalt had 58 yards on 15 carries.
