Former Holton Wildcat Eli Prine Sets School Record for Hesston Baseball
Eli Prine

Making the switch from high school baseball to the collegiate level is one of the hardest transitions that a freshman athlete can make, but for former Holton Wildcat Eli Prine the transition has seemed rather simple. Even after his senior baseball season was cancelled due to COVID-19.

Prine is currently in his freshman season on the Hesston College baseball team and currently leads the team in batting average (.375) and last week set the school record for RBIs in a single season (49).

He has racked up 42 hits this season including four home runs, 19 walks and seven stolen bases out of eight attempts.

Prine is also 4-0 on the mound for the Larks allowing 14 earned runs in 28.2 innings with 38 strikeouts and only 16 walks.

At Holton, Prine was named a first team all-Big 7 League infield selection in 2019 and was named an honorable mention selection in 2018 as a sophomore.

Prine will look to continued to lead Hesston who is off to a 22-17 start to the year with seven doubleheaders remaining in the season.
