Former Washington County Tiger, Erin Alexander Playing Well at Cloud County

From a top performer in the Twin Valley League in basketball to a top contributor for her team Cloud County in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference former Washington County Tiger, Erin Alexander has been an impact player in her time at Cloud County.

The Thunderbirds are 11-4 on the season and Alexander has been a key piece for the team in her sophomore campaign playing in and starting all 14 games this season, averaging 13.1 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 2.5 blocks per game, while shooting 53.9% from the floor. The former Washington County Tiger has recorded double figures in 10 of the teams 14 games including a 28 point performance versus Garden City and has notched five double-doubles this season including a 22 point, 21 rebound game against Dodge City.

Alexander jumped into the fold for Cloud County her freshman season and made an instant impact posting 13.9 points, 9.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists and three blocks per game while shooting 54.4% from the floor. Her strong season earned her first team All-KJCCC honors and second team All-Region VI honors.

In high school the former Washington County Tiger enjoyed great success in multiple sports including basketball, volleyball and track and field. She helped guide the lady Tigers basketball team her junior year to a third place finish in Class 2A at State and was selected a three-time All-TVL player, while also earning All-State honors her junior and senior years. In track Alexander won the 2A shot put State title her senior and junior years and claimed the discus crown her junior year.

Cloud County looks to continue its solid season and Alexander figures to be a key piece for the team all year as they challenge for a top notch finish in the KJCCC.
