Former Holton Wildcat, Brylee New A Key Piece to Kansas Wesleyan Basketball
Brylee New

Kansas Wesleyan lady Coyotes sit at 14-10 on the season and are looking to finish the regular season strong with six games left before the KCAC Tournament.

A key piece of the team this season and last year has been former Holton Wildcat, Brylee New who this year has played in and started in all 24 games for Kansas Wesleyan averaging her highest offensive output of her college basketball career. The senior is posting 6.1 points per game, along with 3.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game. On the year she has reached double figures four times with a 14 point contest against Southwestern being her best.

New transferred to Kansas Wesleyan after two years at Cowley College and jumped into the fold quickly for the Coyotes as she played in 31 games as a junior and started 26 averaging 3.1 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. In her two years at Cowley College she played in 62 games with 39 starts averaging around 3.5 points, two rebounds and two assists per game.

The former Holton Wildcat enjoyed plenty of success in high school with her teammates on the basketball court as she was part of a Wildcat team that won a State title in 2011 and another team that finished as State runner-up in 2012. She also earned All-Big Seven basketball honors during her high school career, averaging 6.8 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game her senior year.

New looks to continue to help lead the Coyotes as they look for a strong finish to the season to prepare for the KCAC Tournament.
