Seven teams faced off against each other on the golf course on Tuesday at the Rossville Invitational and the Sabetha Bluejays soared above the competition.
Sabetha one of three area teams competing at the event took home a first place finish behind a 4-man team scored of 328, 22 strokes better than second place finishers Silver Lake. Bluejays used the two best rounds of the day to propel themselves to the victory as Nolan Keim and Kevan Herbster both registered a round of 78 on the day to finish first and second, individually with tiebreaker decided by scorecard.
Rounding out the Bluejays top scores on the day included another top five finisher in Tyler Ulrich who posted an 83 to finish fourth individually, while his teammate Brock Frey capped off the team's scoring after shooting an 89.
The Horton Chargers and Perry Lecompton Kaws competed alongside the Bluejays on the days action and took home sixth and fifth place finishes, respectively with scores of 386 and 378. For the Chargers their top highlight of the day came at the hands of MaKennzi Knudson who placed fifth individually on the day after posting a round of 84.
Other teams finishes included: 2nd - Silver Lake (350), 3rd - Osage City (361), 4th - Rossville (375) and 7th - St. Mary's (395).
