(KTNC) - Falls City Sacred Heart has taken over the number one spot in the Class D-2 High School Football ratings, according to both the Omaha World-Herald and Lincoln Journal-Star.
The Irish had been ranked 3rd in the pre-season poll in both papers. They moved into the top spot after losses by the top two teams, Giltner and Humphrey St. Francis. The Irish defeated Pawnee City, 52-8, Friday night.
Sterling is ranked 9th this week in the Journal-Star and 5th in the World-Herald, after dropping a close game to Freeman.
The Falcons are ranked 6th in Class D-1 in the Journal-Star and 10th in the World-Herald. Exeter-Milligan and Howells-Dodge remain 1-2 in D-1 in both papers, with Bruning-Davenport-Shickley ranked 9th.
David City Aquinas is ranked #1 in Class C-2, and Norfolk Catholic holds the top spot in C-1. Lincoln Christian is ranked 4th in the Journal-Star and 6th in the World-Herald in Class C-1.
Elmwood-Murdock is ranked 10th in Class C-2 in the Journal-Star.
