Sabetha, Immaculata & Hiawatha Square Off In Girls Tennis Quad

It was a beautiful night for tennis action and the lady Bluejays of Sabetha played host to a pair of area teams in the Hiawatha Red Hawks and Immaculata Raiders in a Quad matchup with Hayden, also partaking in the action.

Each team had then share of nice showing on the day's action on the courts in Sabetha. For the Bluejays they were led by doubles team, Ellie Montogmery and Amy Wysong who continued their strong week improving to 6-0 on the week with a 3-0 showing on their home court in the doubles competition number one. Wysong and Montogmery cruised to 7-1, 7-1 and 7-0 wins on the night.

In doubles number two it was Jena Winkler and Erica Tangeman having a solid night for Sabetha going 2-1 for a second place finish in their competition. Winkler and Tangeman won 7-1 and 7-0 in their wins and lost 7-2 to Hayden. In singles, Lexi Wenger highlighted the night for Sabetha going 2-1 in the singles number one competition with her lone loss coming in a tough 8-6 match to Mariah DeBacker from Hayden. Wenger’s wins came in 7-2 and 7-3 fashion.

For the Raiders of Immaculata their day was highlighted by a 3-0 day in singles competition number two by Liz Lee winning her matches 7-3, 7-3 and 7-5.

The Red Hawks of Hiawatha finished a pair of wins on the day as singles competitor, Jamie Clary continued to show improvement on the season finishing 1-2 in the singles number one competition with her win coming over Immaculata 7-3. While, the doubles tandem of Tara Coots and Morgan Wood, also went 1-2 in competition for Hiawatha with their win coming 7-5 over Immaculata.

Hiawatha and Sabetha will continue their season on Saturday (September 14th) as Hiawatha will host an Invitational. For Immaculata they continue their season at their home Invitational next Tuesday (September 17th).
