For the first time since Nov. 2, 2009, the Peru State Bobcat football team finds themselves among the teams receiving votes in the NAIA 2013 Football Coaches' Top 25 Poll. This is the first regular-season poll of the 2013 season and was announced Monday afternoon by the NAIA office.

Peru State received nine votes in the poll and would technically be 30th in the rankings. Just ahead of the Bobcats is Concordia University (Neb.) with 11 votes. Concordia is coached by former Bobcat assistant coach Vance Winter.

Four other Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) teams are listed in the Top 25. Baker University is now eighth, having moved up from 15th in the preseason poll. Missouri Valley College, which had been ranked second, fell to 11th after suffering a loss last week. Benedictine College made the biggest jump of the HAAC schools going from 24th to 14th. Right behind Benedictine is MidAmerica Nazarene University which fell from tenth to 15th after their loss this past week.
