After two weeks of high school football action in the state of Kansas four area teams remained in the latest rankings across the state while seven others are gaining consideration in polls across the state.

The Twin Valley League continues to be well represented in the polls with three teams in the polls. In 8-Man Division II, it's the B&B Falcons and Hanover Wildcats remaining ranked this week but both find themselves in different slots, depending what rankings you look at. For the Falcons, who started the season preseason ranked number one they remain number one in the Kpreps and Kansasprepfootball.com rankings but are second in the Capital Journal and third in the Varsity Kansas poll. The Falcons opened the season with a tough loss to Madison, but responded in week two with a crushing win over Quinter, 54-6 on the road, to move to 1-1 on the season.

The Hanover Wildcats, improved to 2-0 on the season by beating Rock Hills 42-22 in week two action. The Wildcats moved to number one in the polls last week in the Capital Journal and Varsity Kansas rankings and remained their this week. Hanover remained at number two in the Kansasprepfootball.com this week and third in the Kpreps rankings.

The Axtell Eagles in 8-Man Division II have started to garner attention in the polls getting looks in all four polls after a 2-0 start with wins over Lewiston and Clifton-Clyde this past week. Clifton-Clyde who's off to a 1-1 start this season is still receiving consideration in 8-Man Division I.

In Class 2-1A, the Centralia-Wetmore Panthers continued to dominate their opponents on the football field smashing past Riley County for a 30-0 win in week two action to improve to 2-0 and remain number one across the board in all four polls.

A pair of other teams in the area have started to gain attention across the state and get some consideration for the polls after a 2-0 start to the season. The Troy Trojans and Jackson Heights are off to nice starts and starting to get recognized for it.

In Class 3A, no team from the area finds themselves in the rankings but Nemaha Valley after a 2-0 start and Hiawatha with a 1-1 start are both getting consideration in the latest Capital Journal polls.

Class 4A, the powerhouse Holton continues to dominate the polls holding the number one spot again this week in all four polls after improving to 2-0 on the season with a 56-7 win over Santa Fe Trail. The Jeff West Tigers are off to a fast start in 4A, also moving to 2-0 this season and area in the others receiving votes category by the Capital Journal.

Not much movement in the polls this week for the four area ranked teams, but some other area teams seem to be on the rise and challenging for a spot in the rankings as we head into week three action.
