(KTNC) - Zach Heitkamp rushed for 241 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Syracuse Rockets past the Falls City Tigers, 33-16, on a stormy Friday night at Jug Brown Stadium.

Heitkamp got the Rockets on the board in the first quarter, scoring on a 59 yard run with 10:09 remaining in the period.  Falls City came right back to take an 8-7 lead when Ryan Mount returned ensuing kick-off 88 yards for a touchdown.  Jordy Stoller ran in the two-point conversion to give the Tigers the lead.

That would hold up into the second quarter, when Syracuse recovered a Falls City fumble in the end zone to retake the lead at 9-7.  The Rockets added a field goal as time expired in the second quarter to take a 12-7 lead at halftime.

Heitkamp scored what would prove to be the game-winning touchdown on a 25 yard run with 2:43 left in the third quarter.  Ty Snyder carried the ball in from four yards out early in the fourth quarter to give the Rockets a 26-8 lead.

Falls City got to within 10 points, when Mitchell Harling broke free for a 68 yard touchdown run with just over 10 minutes remaining in the game and the two-point conversion made it 26-16.  That was as close as Falls City would get.  Heitkamp closed the scoring with a 36 yard touchdown run with 2:13 remaining.

For the game, Syracuse finished with 287 yards rushing on 51 carries.  Falls City was held to 118 yards of total offense in the game.  Harling had 98 yards rushing.  The Rockets held Stoller in check.  One week after the Falls City junior rushed for 265 yards against Lincoln Lutheran, Syracuse held him to a net of  minus-2 yards on eight carries.

The game was delayed by lightning in the third quarter.

The loss drops Falls City to 3-2 on the season and 1-1 in district play.  Syracuse is 5-0 overall and 1-0 in the district.  Falls City is on the road at Fairbury Friday night.  The Jeffs are 1-4 after picking up their first win of the year Friday night, 40-21 over Sandy Creek.  Syracuse will host Auburn Friday night.
